Viktoria Baron

Viktoria Baron is Ukraine’s foremost fashion designer. As an artist, she is omnivorous: her inspiration comes from everything that surrounds her. Historical costumes and art, architecture and technology, social and cultural phenomena, and even the personalities of people around – everything comes together in a flow that fuels her extraordinary imagination.

Viktoria presented her first large-scale project in 2004. She created 52 costumes for Aniko Constellation, The Theater for Modern Choreography. The premiere of their ballet was an invitation-only charity event that took place in London’s famous Landmark Hotel. It was a great opportunity for Baron to showcase her work before London’s political and economic elite.

Her first collection came out in 2005. La beaute en russe is a modern interpretation of the aesthetics of pre-revolutionary Russia. This collection was presented at Ukrainian Fashion Week, Ukrainian National Opera House, Livadia Palace, and Kiev National Museum of Russian Art.

In 2007, Viktoria collaborated with some of the top Ukrainian hairdressers on two remarkable projects, Couture Allure, a collection of evening dresses, and Cyber Malvinas, a line of avant-garde looks. Wella Professionals brand sponsored these shows.

In the United States, Viktoria Baron’s exhibition of garments and accessories took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Arts Club in 2008. Both events were a part of the Annual Russian Heritage Month® established in cooperation with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, the City of New York and the New York Post and produced by the Russian American Foundation and its President, Marina Kovalyov.

At the present time, the artist is working on a collection called Kievan Rus’. It is Viktoria’s own version of the East Slavic tribal symbolism.

The designer has a substantial private clientele. She is famous for creating very personalized ensembles. Her clothing is known to reflect and bring out the innermost character traits of her clients.
